Washington – Have you ever thought about owning property that stays on the water at all times? This concept is not new in Cape Town, although the EvFloat luxury apartment is.

Released in early June, this project was in the works for years. The idea was to have a sense of living in a luxury apartment without building on land or owning a yacht.

The V&A Waterfront marina hosts the apartment, but there are plans to produce multiple units around South Africa.

This residence offers privacy, marine activity, and a luxury experience, all while being actually practical. The guests need to function in the apartment, so it can not just be a pretty sight.

Waterfront land is a popular demand, as looking out into the marina is aesthetically pleasing; EvFloat can supply that demand by providing residences in a marina environment.

EvFloat is not a common houseboat. This product can not leave the approved marina area and is not intended to work as a cruising product in open water.

BlueCape is an ocean investment in which Cape Town is involved. This supports the strategic direction for stakeholders in the marine sector and grows the city’s ocean economy.

KND plans to expand its products into selected areas across Africa, but South Africa first.

The EvFloat measures 15.7 meters long, with a modern interior and full kitchen. Four people are meant to comfortably fit in the bedroom zone for longer stays. Another wonderful feature is a staircase leading up to an elevated rooftop platform.

With solar panels lining the roof, clean energy raises the value of this experience even more, so residents can run this vessel silently and sustainably.

Having a luxury living style isn’t limited to the ground anymore; taking it to the water is a new, fun way to live.
