Fez — South Korean girl group ITZY made its Morocco debut at “Mawazine Festival” on Tuesday night, turning Rabat’s OLM Souissi stage into a full K-pop moment for Moroccan fans.

Made up of Yeji, Lia, Ryujin, Chaeryeong, and Yuna, the group delivered the high-energy performance style that has made ITZY one of K-pop’s most recognizable acts. Their Morocco set blended newer tracks with fan favorites, giving the crowd a mix of polished choreography, sharp transitions, and bold pop hooks.

“We were so excited when we heard the news that we were going to be part of this wonderful festival,” the group told MWN Lifestyle magazine. “We saw a few MIDZYs before at the rehearsal, and their energy was great, so we just cannot wait for the actual stage.”

A set full of fan favorites

ITZY’s Mawazine performance included songs such as “WANNABE,” “LOCO,” “In the morning,” “GOLD,” “Girls Will Be Girls,” “TUNNEL VISION,” “Imaginary Friend,” and “Kiss & Tell,” bringing some of the group’s biggest stage moments to Rabat.

For many fans, “WANNABE” carried special weight. The track remains closely tied to ITZY’s message of confidence and individuality, while songs such as “LOCO” and “In the morning” gave the night the bold, performance-heavy edge fans came to see.

The members said Moroccan fans made an impression even before the concert began. “It is time before we actually meet the Moroccan audience, but we are really excited about that because even in rehearsal, their energy was so great,” they said.

A message of self-belief

Beyond the choreography and hits, ITZY framed the Morocco show around a message they have carried since debut: believing in yourself. The group said bringing that message to a new audience at Mawazine gave the night added meaning.

“The message that we keep trying to show from the debut was to believe in yourself,” ITZY told MWN Lifestyle magazine. “Since we are doing the first stage in Morocco today, we want to send that message to them.”

The group’s first Morocco appearance added a strong K-pop moment to this year’s Mawazine lineup, showing how deeply global pop scenes now connect with Moroccan audiences.

For Moroccan MIDZYs, ITZY’s Mawazine performance was more than a concert. It was a rare chance to see a global K-pop act bring its music, message, and full-stage energy directly to Rabat.
