Rabat – The Royal Moroccan Golf Federation and the Hassan II Golf Trophy Association are set to organize the 21st edition of the Throne Cup, taking place from July 6-11, at Cabo Negro Royal Golf.

Widely regarded as one of the most important fixtures on Morocco’s national golf calendar, the tournament will once again gather the country’s top amateur players in a week-long battle for club supremacy.

This year’s edition will feature twelve clubs from across the Kingdom, reflecting the growing depth and competitiveness of Moroccan golf.

Among the participating teams are Marrakech Royal Golf, Cabo Negro Royal Golf, Casa Green Golf, Dar Es Salam Royal Golf, Tangier Royal Country Club, Saïdia Lacs Royal Golf, Fez Royal Golf, El Jadida Royal Golf, Casablanca PalmGolf, The Montgomerie Rabat, The Tony Jacklin Casablanca, and Anfa Mohammedia Royal Golf.

Together, they will compete for the prestigious title of best golf club in Morocco.

Following the 20th edition in 2025, held on the historic fairways of Tanger Royal Country Club and won by Dar Es Salam Royal Golf, the tournament continues its tradition of rotating between some of the Kingdom’s most iconic courses.

This year, the spotlight shifts to Cabo Negro, a course nestled between the sea and the mountains in northern Morocco, offering a spectacular setting for a competition that has become the benchmark for team golf in the country.

Since its creation in 2004, the Throne Cup has steadily grown in prestige and sporting intensity.

Built on values of fair play, solidarity, perseverance, and club spirit, the competition provides Morocco’s best amateur golfers with the opportunity to defend their club colors in a format where individual performance serves the collective effort.

Over the years, it has become not only a highly anticipated sporting event but also a reflection of the evolution of Moroccan golf.

The tournament is also seen as a true barometer of the level of golf development in Morocco, highlighting the progress made by golf schools and training programs across the country.

Several players taking part this year are ranked among Morocco’s top amateurs, with some also appearing in the World Amateur Golf Ranking, underlining the rising international profile of Moroccan golf talent.

For more than two decades, the success of the Throne Cup has relied on the commitment of clubs, players, and supporters who continue to make it a cornerstone of the national sports calendar.
