Marrakech – From April 28 to May 1, the 5th edition of Ivorian Film Week is setting up camp at La Renaissance cinema, bringing with it a selection of six recent films from the Ivorian film scene.

We’re talking gripping dramas, thought-provoking stories, and — because no good festival is complete without it — a touch of laughter.

Organized by the Centre Cinématographique Marocain (CCM) in collaboration with Côte d’Ivoire’s Office National du Cinéma (ONAC-CI), the event is more than a showcase — it’s a meeting point.

Filmmakers, producers, and industry professionals from Morocco and Ivory Coast will be rubbing elbows, exchanging ideas, and maybe even laying the groundwork for the next big joint production.

This festive initiative dates back to an agreement signed in 2011 between Morocco and Côte d’Ivoire, a pact aimed at strengthening cinematic ties between the two nations.

Fast forward to today, and here we are — witnessing an ever-growing partnership that keeps our movie nights interesting.

According to the CCM, an important delegation will be attending, led by Diomandé Lison F. Johnson, the director of ONAC-CI, along with a group of prominent Ivorian cinema professionals.

So, if you’re in Rabat and looking for something a little different, something that might just bring a new perspective or introduce you to your next favorite filmmaker — this is it.

The red carpet (or at least the cinema seat) is waiting.
