Rabat – Morocco ranked as the Best country for solo travel for the second year in a row, according to the latest report by SportsCover Direct.

Although the North African country topped the solo travel overall ranking, it did not make it onto the list of top countries for women solo travellers.

The country has abundant opportunities for solo exploration, as it boasted a remarkable 928 solo tours. 

Additionally, 44% of its accommodations were rated as five-star hotels, and 53% of activities available for solo travellers were rated as five-star experiences. 

These factors combined to solidify Morocco’s position as a leading destination for individuals embarking on solo adventures, with an overall score of 29.1 out of 30.

The North African country tied with the United States, which also scored 29.1.

Greece was ranked third, followed by India and South Africa, respectively.

While Morocco did not make the list of best countries in the world for female solo travelers, SportsCover Direct’s report noted that 80% of the top ten destinations for female solo travelers are in Europe.

Spain emerged as the frontrunner in the ranking for female solo travelers, holding the top spot for the second consecutive year with a score of 47 out of 50

Croatia secured the second position with a score of 46, while Ireland claimed the third spot with a score of 45.

“Travelling alone can be intimidating as for many it’s a new experience, you’re on unfamiliar ground and adjusting to different cultures,” Digital Marketing Executive at SportsCover Direct Elina Ilieva said. “But, bad things can happen anywhere and this shouldn’t hold people back from enjoying a rewarding experience.”

Morocco’s ranking highlights the country’s allure as a destination for solo adventurers. 

With its rich history, vibrant culture, and diverse landscapes, Morocco continues to captivate solo travelers from all over the world.

UK automotive manufacturer CarMats recently ranked three destinations in Morocco among the world’s top ten greatest road trips, including the Atlas Mountains, the Sahara Loop, and the Coastal Road Trip of Morocco.
