Marrakech – On December 3, YouTube dropped its annual round-up, revealing the top moments, creators, and music that defined the platform across the Middle East and North Africa.

And guess who’s making waves in the music scene? Lazaro and Lbenj, two of Morocco’s hottest names, are proving their musical dominance by landing spots on YouTube’s Top 10 Songs of 2024 list.

Lazaro’s catchy hit “Mahboul Ana” took an impressive second place, racking up over 180 million views – no wonder it went viral across TikTok and Instagram stories!

Meanwhile, Lbenj’s electrifying track “Hwasi” earned the seventh spot with around 106 million views, cementing his place as a powerhouse in the global music scene.

“This year’s YouTube End-of-Year lists reveal how YouTube mirrors the most important events in MENA,” stated Javid Aslanov, Head of YouTube in the Middle East & North Africa, in a press release.

“From breaking news and sporting moments to the latest gaming trends and breakout musical artists, these lists showcase how creators give life to MENA’s most important stories, sharing their perspectives and engaging audiences across diverse formats.”
