Marrakech – Four years ago, the world held its breath as nine tiny heartbeats echoed from a delivery room in Casablanca.
Today, those heartbeats have turned into giggles, tantrums, and birthday candles.
Mali’s record-breaking nonuplets — five girls, four boys — are celebrating their fourth birthday, and yes, they’re still turning heads (and probably turning the house upside down).
Born on May 4, 2021, at the Aïn Borja clinic in Morocco, the little crew wasn’t just an ordinary birth story.
Their arrival broke the Guinness World Record and sparked worldwide awe.
From baby bottles to baby steps, and now big-kid birthday parties, these nine siblings have become more than a medical miracle — they’ve grown into symbols of resilience, gratitude, and unity.
In a heartfelt celebration, Salaha Maïga, member of Mali’s National Transitional Council, reminded everyone why these nine tiny humans matter so much, stating, “These children, born in extraordinary circumstances, are a symbol of hope, perseverance, and solidarity.”
But behind the balloons and birthday cake, there’s a thank you that still echoes across borders.
Now back in Mali, the family is doing well, with nine little personalities running the show.
According to their father, Abdelkader Arby, some of them are cuddly, some are independent, and yes, some definitely like to make noise. (What did you expect with nine toddlers?)
Four years, one world record, and countless sleepless nights later, the nonuplets are not just surviving — they’re thriving.
And as the candles are blown out for the fourth time, one thing is clear: this birthday isn’t just a celebration.
It’s a reminder that sometimes, miracles really do come in sets of nine.
