RabatXing Zhilei, the YouTuber behind the channel Xing’s World, is back with one of his most ambitious creations. After building a cat house two years ago, he took on a much bigger challenge this August – constructing a fully functional subway system for his cats. The project took four months to complete, showcasing both his patience and creativity.

Xing began by carefully planning the layout and design. He wanted the system to look and work like a real subway, but on a miniature scale suited for cats.

Two problems, however, seemed unsolvable at first: how to make the train doors and platform doors open at the same time, and how to design a working escalator. Despite the technical difficulties, he decided to stop overthinking and simply start building, trusting his problem-solving skills along the way.

The result is astonishing: a cat-sized underground station complete with moving trains, synchronized doors, and realistic lighting. The cats curiously explore the tunnels and platforms, turning the project into a mix of engineering and entertainment.

The cat subway is part of Xing’s growing “cat world,” which also includes a private island, a parking garage, a mini theater, a supermarket, and a home, all handmade to enrich his pets’ lives.

In Chinese culture, cats have long been more than just pets; they are companions, symbols of good fortune, and a source of comfort. Historically, cats have been valued for their ability to protect homes from pests. Today, they have become part of folklore, art, and daily life.

Cats are not only a popular subject in Chinese art and literature, but they have also inspired the creation of numerous cat-themed cafés. These cafés provide a cozy space for relaxation and interaction with cats. Such trends reflect the deep connection between Chinese people and these animals, highlighting the way cats continue to occupy a special place in Chinese culture.
