Lugano – Olivia Rodrigo has announced her upcoming third studio album, “You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love,” set for release on June 12.

The project marks her first full-length release since her 2023 album “Guts.”

The album continues her long-standing collaboration with producer Dan Nigro, who has worked with Rodrigo since her debut.

The album will mark a new creative chapter, exploring emotionally rich love songs that balance joy, vulnerability, and complexity.

Early details suggest a shift in perspective, as Rodrigo leans into writing from a place of happiness while maintaining the emotional honesty that defines her songwriting.

The title itself also reflects a departure from her previous concise releases, pointing to a more expansive and narrative-driven concept.

Rodrigo first rose to global prominence with her 2021 debut album “Sour” and its follow-up “Guts,” both of which topped charts and earned widespread critical acclaim.

Her breakout single “drivers license” played a defining role in that success, debuting at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 at age 17, marking a record-setting moment that proved her immediate impact and rising influence in the global music landscape.

Widely regarded as a deeply personal release, the song marked a pivotal moment in her career and laid the foundation for her evolution as an artist.

Her rapid ascent was further solidified at the 64th Annual Grammy Awards, where she won three awards, including “Best New Artist,” “Best Pop Vocal Album,” and “Best Pop Solo Performance.”

In 2024, Rodrigo expanded her global reach with the “Guts World Tour,” which sold out across North America, Europe, Asia, and Australia, proving her strong international fanbase and widespread demand.

With “You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love,” Rodrigo continues to evolve her artistry, blending emotional storytelling with a broader exploration of love, identity, and growth as anticipation builds ahead of its summer release.
