Rabat – Following a widely circulated video referencing a palmier purchase in Marrakech, content creator Bruno Costa, (@bruno.costa.77) shared more about his experience in Morocco in an exclusive interview with MWN Lifestyle.
Costa describes his trip to Marrakech as a sensory overload in the best possible way, a destination that immediately immerses visitors in movement, color, and culture.
“Honestly, it felt intense in the best way,” he said. “So many sounds, smells, people, and movement everywhere. It hits you immediately.”
For Costa, Morocco had long been on his travel list. What ultimately pushed him to book the trip was a mix of curiosity and accessibility.
“I wanted something different but still close to home, a place full of culture, colors, and energy,” he explained. “It felt like the perfect time.”
Asked to describe Marrakech in a few words, Costa didn’t hesitate: “Chaotic, vibrant, authentic, and unforgettable.”
He emphasized that the city’s intensity is part of its identity, something that can feel overwhelming at first, but becomes meaningful with time.
“It’s like stepping into another world. Loud, colorful, a bit overwhelming at first, but very exciting once you embrace it.”
Despite the fast pace, Costa says what stood out most was the human connection.
“What surprised me the most was how welcoming and friendly people are. Even when negotiating hard, there’s usually a smile behind it.”
Rather than landmark-driven tourism, Costa highlighted everyday experiences as the most memorable part of his visit, especially exploring local markets and engaging in bargaining culture.
“Negotiating in the souks was probably my favorite moment,” he said. “Realizing it’s not just normal, it’s an art form.”
Food also played a key role in shaping his impression of Morocco, with simple local staples leaving a strong impact.
“Definitely the tagine and fresh orange juice. Simple, flavorful, and everywhere.”
He added that Marrakech left him with a more nuanced understanding of Morocco compared to his expectations.
“I expected chaos and crowds, but I didn’t expect so much warmth, beauty, and culture. It’s more alive than I imagined.”
A viral moment, but not the full story
During his visit to Marrakech, Bruno Costa shared a short video that quickly went viral online after a street interaction caught viewers’ attention.
The moment happened shortly after his arrival in the city, when he was approached near a busy tourist area close to Koutoubia Mosque.
In the clip, he is seen reacting to a purchase that later sparked conversation on social media about pricing and tourist experiences in Marrakech.
Costa explains that the situation unfolded very quickly. He had just arrived from the airport when he was approached by a vendor, and the interaction developed into a spontaneous purchase without a clear price being discussed upfront.
It was only afterward that he realized the amount he had paid, which led to his immediate reaction in the viral video.
Despite the attention the clip received, Costa frames it as a brief and isolated moment within a much wider travel experience.
For him, it reflects the fast-paced nature of street interactions in Marrakech rather than defining his overall perception of the city.
