Rabat – American singer D4vd, born David Anthony Burke, has been arrested on suspicion of murdering a teenage girl, marking a significant development in a case that has been under investigation for several months.

The 21-year-old artist is currently being held without bail, with authorities confirming that the case will soon be presented to the District Attorney’s office.

The investigation centres around the death of Celeste Rivas Hernandez, a 14-year-old girl who had been reported missing in April 2024.

Her remains were discovered months later, in September, inside a Tesla linked to the singer.

According to BBC News, the police reports, the condition of the body made it difficult to immediately determine the cause of death, and the case has remained under investigation ever since.

Despite the severity of the allegations, BBC stated that D4vd’s legal team has strongly denied any involvement, insisting that no formal charges have yet been filed and that evidence will ultimately prove his innocence.

The singer himself has remained largely silent, although his representatives previously stated that he has been cooperating with authorities throughout the investigation.

Before this controversy, D4vd had quickly built a reputation as one of the most promising new voices in music.

He is best known for his emotionally driven hits “Romantic Homicide” and “Here With Me,” songs that gained massive traction online and introduced him to a global audience.

His rise from posting gaming content to becoming a charting artist was seen as one of the most unexpected success stories in recent years.

However, following the discovery of the body, the singer stepped away from the spotlight, cancelling his world tour and losing several brand partnerships.

As the case moves forward, it remains unclear how it will unfold, but it has already cast a heavy shadow over a career that was, until recently, on a rapid upward trajectory.
