Fez — Collectif 4.0 is inviting families in Casablanca to celebrate art through earth and natural materials at the fifth edition of “Morocco, Land of Cultures,” with the event scheduled to on from Saturday May 23, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Villa des Arts in Casablanca.
Organized in partnership with the Al Mada Foundation, the new edition is titled “TRAB TO ART” and will take place on the outdoor esplanade of the cultural venue.
The program presents earth as a source of creation, play, and artistic expression, with activities designed for both children and adults.
Earth as a creative language
The event invites participants to reconnect with natural elements through clay, soil, plants, textures, and other organic materials. Rather than presenting art as something distant or technical, “TRAB TO ART” frames creativity as a sensory and accessible experience that families can share together.
Children and parents will be encouraged to touch, shape, decorate, imagine, and experiment with materials drawn from nature. The event’s concept places emphasis on transmission, inviting families to discover how simple elements can become tools for storytelling and self-expression.
Villa des Arts, run by the Al Mada Foundation, describes its cultural spaces as places of contemporary art, creation, meetings, and access to Moroccan artistic heritage for the public. The foundation also presents the Villas des Arts as didactic spaces that aim to preserve, promote, and make art more accessible.
Workshops for children and parents
The afternoon will include a clay modeling workshop, where participants can shape their own forms, objects, and small sculptures through an intuitive experience.
Families will also be able to take part in nature-inspired workshops, including pot painting, pebble decoration, and DIY seed bomb-making. These activities are designed to turn natural objects into personal artistic creations while keeping the process playful and open.
Another space, titled “Wishes for the Earth,” will function as a participatory exhibition where visitors can write, draw, or share messages for the planet and future generations.
The program will also feature an African dance workshop, offering participants a chance to explore movement as a form of expression and shared energy. Free play and discovery areas will remain open throughout the afternoon, giving families space to relax and move between activities at their own pace.
A monthly family program
“Morocco, Land of Cultures” is a monthly family event held at Villa des Arts in Casablanca until June 2026. Previous editions have centered on Moroccan colors, rhythms, manga, and heritage-based workshops, reflecting the program’s broader goal of linking culture, play, and intergenerational learning.
The fifth edition continues that approach by focusing on the relationship between earth, imagination, and care for the environment. Entry is set at a single fee of MAD 50 per family, making the afternoon accessible to parents and children looking for a cultural activity in the city.
Created by Collectif 4.0, a cultural and event experience design studio, the initiative aims to build shared spaces where generations can meet through art. In Casablanca, “TRAB TO ART” adds an ecological layer to that mission, turning soil, clay, and movement into a reminder that culture can begin with the simplest materials under our feet.
