Casablanca – The Royal Nautique Pro 2026 officially wrapped up its three-day run on Sunday, after showcasing the world’s best waterskiers and trick athletes along the Bouregreg River since June 5.
Across four categories, Canada led the way with two first-place wins, alongside strong performances from athletes from the USA and the UK. Canadian Jaimee Bull led the Open Women Slalom, while Neilly Ross secured first place in Open Women Tricks.
In Open Men Slalom, British skier Freddie Winter claimed victory, while American Jake Abelson topped the Open Men Tricks category.
Speaking to MWN Lifestyle magazine on the sidelines of the event, Winter described the Royal Nautique Pro as one of the most remarkable stops of the season.
He also applauded the event’s atmosphere, hospitality, and setting, describing it as a true highlight of the year for athletes.
Moroccan skier Kamil Belmrah, who finished 10th in Open Men Slalom, also shared his experience with MWN Lifestyle magazine, expressing gratitude for taking part in the competition despite narrowly missing the finals. He also reflected on balancing his academic commitments with his passion for the sport.
Beyond the competition itself, the event once again highlighted Rabat as a growing destination for international waterskiing, bringing together elite athletes in a setting that blends sport, nature, and atmosphere. The level of competition across all categories reflected the continued rise of the sport and its expanding global reach.
As the 2026 edition comes to a close, the Royal Nautique Pro leaves behind memorable performances and strong moments both on and off the water, reinforcing its place as one of the standout stops on the international waterski calendar.
