Rabat – Japanese fashion brand Uniqlo has unveiled its first standalone hijab collection, launching on August 10 in Indonesia before expanding to additional markets on August 17.
Following its previous hijab collection through the collaboration with British-Japanese designer Hana Tajima, the upcoming collection comes entirely under Uniqlo and its LifeWear line.
The collection features different hijab styles and fabrics, including Georgette, Satin, and AIRism with UV protection, alongside an undercap hijab.
As summer temperatures rise, what you wear can make a noticeable difference in staying comfortable throughout the day.
This is where AIRism comes in, bringing one of UNIQLO’s well-known functional fabrics into the collection with a lighter option designed for warmer weather and UV protection.
Designed with comfort in mind, the fabric offers a lighter option for warmer days while also providing UV protection, making it particularly suited to everyday summer wear.
The Georgette and Satin options, meanwhile, offer a different feel and appearance, giving wearers more room to choose depending on the look or occasion.
The addition of an undercap also brings a practical element to the line, giving customers an option to build their hijab look while keeping comfort and fit in mind.
The collection comes as part of Uniqlo’s broader LifeWear philosophy, which focuses on clothing designed to fit naturally into everyday life.
Rather than treating modest wear as a separate category, the new line brings hijabs into the brand’s wider approach to simple, functional, and adaptable clothing.
With different fabrics, styles, and features, the collection also reflects how modest fashion continues to offer more room for personal choice.
Whether for everyday errands, warmer days, or a more polished look, the pieces are designed to meet different needs while keeping the hijab at the center of the look.
