Rabat – Zara Larsson is teaming up with Winx Club for a new music video for “Midnight Sun,” scheduled to premiere on August 21.
Promotional material released ahead of the premiere shows Larsson alongside Winx Club characters, with the singer leaning into the franchise’s signature fantasy-inspired aesthetic.
The collaboration has quickly travelled across fan communities, with Winx Club fans sharing previews and reacting to Larsson’s animated appearance ahead of the release.
For Larsson, the collaboration arrives at a particularly busy point in the Midnight Sun era.
The title track was released in June 2025 and later became Larsson’s first Grammy-nominated song, earning a nomination for Best Dance Pop Recording at the 68th Annual Grammy Awards.
The track also reached No. 39 on the Billboard Hot 100 and continued to appear on the UK Official Singles Chart throughout 2026, where it reached a peak of No. 8.
That momentum has helped turn “Midnight Sun” from a traditional album campaign into something closer to an ongoing pop universe.
In May, Larsson expanded the project with “Midnight Sun: Girls Trip,” a remix and collaboration album featuring an all-women lineup that included Shakira, Robyn, Tyla, PinkPantheress, Kehlani, JT, and Madison Beer.
The Winx Club collaboration now adds another unexpected layer to that rollout.
Rather than simply revisiting the original music video, Larsson is giving the title track an entirely new visual setting, extending the life of a song that has already moved from summer pop release to Grammy nominee and chart success.
The pairing also feels particularly natural visually. Larsson’s Midnight Sun campaign has consistently leaned into vivid colour, playful styling, and a deliberately larger-than-life pop aesthetic.
Her 2026 Grammy look, for example, took direct inspiration from the album’s sunny Y2K mood, with a glittering yellow Kevin Germanier ensemble designed around the imagery of the sun.
Winx Club, meanwhile, has its own instantly recognisable visual language, built around fairy characters, transformation sequences, fantasy worlds, and fashion-forward looks.
Bringing Larsson into that universe gives the song a built-in connection to a generation that grew up with the franchise while introducing the Winx world to her current pop audience.
And the timing is strategic. “Midnight Sun” has already demonstrated that it can keep finding new audiences months after its original release.
The song spent 29 weeks on the UK Official Singles Chart through August 2026, reaching the Top 10 twice in its run and peaking at No. 8.
Now, the Winx Club video gives the track another cultural moment just as Larsson continues to build on the album’s success.
The collaboration also arrives while she is expanding her live presence and global profile, following the release of Girls Trip and a year of major performances and award-season visibility.
