Rabat – On June 28, the crowd at Casablanca Music Week warmly welcomed one of the Arab music world’s pillars, Hussain Al Jassmi.
The evening began with a captivating opening performance by Iraqi singer, Rahma Riad, who offered the audience an enchanting show to set the stage for Al Jassmi.
While on stage, he expressed his deep gratitude to Morocco, sharing how special the support he receives from Moroccan fans is to him. As the crowd cheered him on, he spoke sincerely of his bond with the country.
Staying true to his artistic spirit, he paid tribute to Moroccan music by performing “Hiya Hiya” by the legendary Hajja Hamdaouia – an icon of Chaabi music, alongside many of his own beloved hits such as “Bel Bont El Areed” and “Seta El Sobh.”
When he sang “Hiya Hiya,” the crowd joined in, chanting loudly and joyfully. Their voices echoed through the venue, transcending dialects and uniting everyone under the shared rhythm of celebration.
“Morocco will always have a warm and special place in my heart. Its audience is unique, incomparable… Our bond is built on history, loyalty, and sincere feelings,” he said, visibly moved by the crowd’s energy.
Al Jassmi also took a moment to thank the organizers of Casablanca Music Week for their warm hospitality and professionalism throughout the event.
The evening unfolded into a vibrant Maghreb-Gulf celebration, where music became the language that brought everyone together, turning the night into a true cultural festivity filled with joy and heartfelt appreciation.
