Nador – Authorities in Los Angeles have arrested a suspect following a shooting near the Beverly Hills home of Rihanna, an incident that has raised concerns in one of the city’s most exclusive neighborhoods.
According to BBC, the suspect is a 35-year-old woman named Ivanna Lisette Ortiz, who was arrested shortly after the incident and booked on suspicion of attempted murder.
Investigators said the woman allegedly used an AR-15-style rifle, firing multiple rounds toward the property before fleeing the area.
Officers later located the suspect and took her into custody. Authorities also recovered the weapon believed to have been used during the incident.
Police reported that the shooting took place on Sunday afternoon, when several gunshots were fired from a vehicle parked near the property.
At the time, Rihanna was reportedly inside the residence she shares with her partner, rapper A$AP Rocky, and their family.
According to the Los Angeles Times, the shooting reportedly occurred shortly after 1 p.m., when gunfire struck the exterior of the property, including the gate and surrounding walls.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and everyone inside the property was safe.
The suspect is currently being held in custody with bail reportedly set at more than $10 million (MAD 91 million), as authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the attack, as stated by BBC.
Police have not yet confirmed whether Rihanna herself was the intended target.
Rihanna, one of the world’s most influential music stars and a successful entrepreneur, has not publicly commented on the incident.
Meanwhile, investigators continue reviewing surveillance footage and gathering evidence to determine the motive behind the shooting and whether additional individuals may have been involved.
