Fez — French-Moroccan actress, Nadia Farès, remains in critical condition after being found unconscious in a Paris gym pool, with investigators now reportedly leaning toward a medical episode, possibly cardiac-related, rather than foul play.
According to Le Parisian, Farès is still in an induced coma, while the Paris prosecutor’s office has opened an inquiry to determine the causes of her injuries.
Investigators are reportedly prioritizing the possibility of a medical episode, including a cardiac-related event.
The incident took place around midday on April 11 at the upscale gym complex, where Farès was reportedly swimming laps with fins and a board before suddenly going under.
According to witness accounts relayed by Le Parisian, another swimmer became alarmed when she did not resurface and dove in, discovering her inert body at the bottom of the pool. She was then pulled from the water and rushed into emergency care.
Farès is best known to many viewers for her role in “Les Rivières pourpres” (The Crimson Rivers), along with appearances in French and international productions over the course of a long screen career.
The actress’s condition has been described as extremely serious, and the investigation now appears focused less on a criminal explanation than on the medical circumstances that may have triggered the near-drowning.
Even as the medical hypothesis gains weight, French reports suggest authorities are still trying to clarify the exact conditions of Farès’s care immediately after the incident.
That means the case is not closed, even if investigators currently see a health emergency as the most likely cause behind what happened in the water.
