Lugano – BTS is officially preparing for another major milestone in its comeback era.

The group is set to appear at the American Music Awards, marking its first award show appearance as a full group in four years.

The appearance comes during a significant year for BTS following the group’s long-awaited return to collective activities after completing military service and launching a new chapter together.

This year’s AMAs will also see BTS competing in three categories: Artist of the Year, Best Male K-pop Artist, and Song of the Summer for “Swim.”

The nominations place the group alongside major global names and position BTS as the only K-pop act nominated in the Artist of the Year category.

The upcoming appearance carries extra significance for longtime fans. BTS has built a strong history with the American Music Awards, first performing at the ceremony in 2017 before later making history in 2021 as the first Asian act to win Artist of the Year.

The 2026 American Music Awards will take place on May 25 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas and air live on CBS and Paramount+, making BTS one of the most closely watched appearances of the night

Online fan discussions have intensified in recent weeks as excitement builds around seeing BTS return to a major awards show setting together again.

While performance details have not been officially confirmed, anticipation is already growing around whether the group will take the stage during the ceremony as part of their comeback promotions.
