“Traversées” is an invitation to experience a captivating dialogue between art and existence through the intertwined works of two visionary artists.
Casablanca – Starting November 7, African Arty gallery in Casablanca will host “Traversées,” an exhibition that showcases a delicate meeting between two deeply rooted artistic sensibilities focused on the exploration of time, passage, and transformation.
This exhibition features the unique works of Flo Arnold and Claire Marboeuf, who, despite using distinct mediums, create a visual and emotional synergy that engages visitors in reflecting on the ephemeral and the enduring aspects of life.
Meet the Artists
Born in France and raised in Casablanca, Flo Arnold is renowned for her immersive installations that explore the relationship between space and identity.
The artist’s work often reflects her personal journey, blending elements from Africa, Europe, and the United States to create installations that embody existential nomadism.
Arnold has exhibited widely, including at the Marrakesh Biennial in Morocco in 2014 and 2016, and at the Loo & Lou Gallery in Paris in 2018.
Claire Marboeuf, a self-taught photographer and visual artist, was born in France and has lived in Morocco and Ghana before settling in Cote d’Ivoire.
Marboeuf began her career in 2017 with the Flash Abidjan collective, focusing on the popular neighborhoods of Abidjan.
The photographer transforms her black-and-white photos by adding paint, loincloths, and various elements salvaged from her surroundings, creating veritable visual treasure hunts.
Together, Flo Arnold and Claire Marboeuf approach their art with unique perspectives – Arnold through immersive installations that invite viewers into new realms and Marboeuf via intricate visual narratives that tell stories with each frame.
Their ability to blend these distinct styles results in a cohesive experience that resonates deeply with audiences.
Beyond the canvas
By merging their individual styles, Arnold and Marboeuf invite viewers to reflect on their journeys, both personal and collective.
This exhibition serves as a reminder that while time may shape our experiences, art has the power to transcend it, offering moments of clarity and connection.
As you move through the gallery, you’ll discover how their works engage in a dialogue about the ephemeral nature of existence while celebrating the enduring aspects of art.

“Traversées” encapsulates the heartbeat of Casablanca’s creative community.
The exhibition will host workshops and discussions designed to break down barriers between artists and audiences.
