Rabat – HYBE, YG Entertainment, SM Entertainment, and JYP Entertainment, are reportedly joining forces to develop a large-scale international music festival designed to showcase the biggest names in K-pop on a single global stage.

The initiative, provisionally titled “Fanomenon” (“fan” and “phenomenon”), is being positioned as an ambitious cultural export project aimed at expanding the global reach of Korean pop culture beyond its current dominance.

According to South Korean media reports, the concept was first publicly introduced by JYP founder Park Jin-young during a cultural exchange committee launch event.

He described the project as a long-term vision to create a flagship festival originating in South Korea and eventually expanding into a worldwide touring format.

Under preliminary plans, the inaugural edition of Fanomenon is expected to take place in South Korea in December 2027.

Organizers are then considering a global expansion starting in 2028, potentially bringing the festival to multiple international cities.

If realized at scale, the project would directly position itself as a competitor to major global festivals such as the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, which continues to be one of the most influential platforms for global music acts.

The four agencies are also said to be working toward establishing a joint legal entity, an unusual step in an industry historically defined by competition between major labels.

The goal, according to early statements, is to centralize efforts to expand K-culture globally while maximizing the collective power of their artist rosters.

Industry observers view the collaboration as a strategic shift, signaling a move from company-driven promotion to a unified export model for K-pop.

However, sources emphasize that the project remains in its early stages.

Operational frameworks, governance structure, and final execution plans have yet to be confirmed, with companies reportedly still assessing regulatory requirements and market conditions.

While Fanomenon has already generated significant attention for its scale and ambition, the companies involved have cautioned that no final decisions have been made.

The initiative remains subject to further planning and internal approvals.
