Lugano — A large-scale ice sculpture installed in Toronto has been used to unveil details of Drake’s upcoming album “Iceman,” set for release on May 15.
Appearing on April 21, the installation drew crowds eager to uncover a hidden clue, with the album’s release date concealed within its frozen structure.
The artist revealed the project on his instagram account, further building anticipation among fans.
He also extended the theme into other public spheres, including covering his courtside seats in faux ice at the Scotiabank Arena during a Toronto Raptors game earlier this month, further fueling hype around the upcoming album.
Fans gathered around the sculpture, chiseling away at the ice in an attempt to reveal its contents, turning the activation into an engaging public affair.
Among them, local streamer Kishka discovered a concealed bag embedded within the sculpture, marked with the phrase “Freeze The World.”
Inside, a magazine revealed the album’s release date, adding a dramatic reveal to the interactive rollout.
Drake’s decision to center the campaign in his hometown of Toronto comes as little surprise, further emphasizing the city’s enduring significance in his journey and its continued role in shaping moments around his career.
The ice installation forms part of a broader rollout built around the album’s cold, minimalist aesthetic.
“Iceman” marks Drake’s first solo album since “For All the Dogs” in 2023, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200.
As anticipation builds, “Iceman” is shaping up to be one of the most closely watched releases of the year, highlighting Drake’s continued ability to generate global attention through inventive album launches.
Drake has yet to announce any tour dates, leaving fans awaiting further details on a potential live rollout for the project.
