Fez — Moroccan singer Oum will perform tomorrow, Thursday at the amphitheater of Hassan II Park in Rabat, in a concert organized by the Delegation of the European Union to Morocco to mark Europe Day.

The event is scheduled for 8 p.m. and is open to the public with prior registration, subject to available seats.

The concert will place Oum’s distinctive musical universe at the center of the celebration, with a performance blending jazz, soul, and trance-inspired sounds.

She will be accompanied by a mostly female ensemble, joined by oud player Yacir Rami, in a stage format designed to build musical bridges between the two shores of the Mediterranean.

Music as a bridge between Morocco and Europe

Beyond the performance itself, the evening is intended as a symbolic celebration of cultural dialogue and cooperation. Europe Day is celebrated on May 9, marking the anniversary of the 1950 Schuman Declaration, which laid the foundations for European integration and cooperation after World War II.

Dimiter Tzantchev, the European Union ambassador to Morocco, said the celebration reflects both the values behind the European project and what Morocco and Europe continue to build together.

He described the Morocco-EU partnership as “living, concrete, and rooted in the daily lives of citizens on both shores of the Mediterranean.”
