Rabat – The Marrakech Short Film Festival is set to bring its traveling “Best Of” program to Paris on June 5, marking the latest international stop in the Moroccan festival’s effort to position short films beyond traditional festival circuits.

Hosted at Cinéma Grand Action, the screening will present a selection of award-winning films from previous editions of the festival ahead of the event’s sixth edition, scheduled to take place in Marrakech from September 25-30.

Founded in 2020, the Marrakech Short Film Festival has steadily developed a cross-border strategy centered on circulation, public screenings, and emerging filmmakers.

Through its “Best Of” initiative, the festival has extended its programming beyond Morocco, organizing screenings and exchanges across territories including Palestine, Jordan, Italy, and Casablanca.

The Paris program will feature four short films previously recognized during the festival: “Beneath a Mother’s Feet” by Elias Suhail, “Milk Brothers” by Kenza Tazi, “Lady of the Graves” by Mohamed Allali, and “The Crawling Birds” by Karim Taj.

The event will also spotlight films produced or supported directly by the festival, reflecting a broader ambition to move beyond exhibition and play a role in the development of emerging cinematic voices.

In recent years, Morocco’s cultural sector has increasingly relied on international partnerships and mobility initiatives to expand the visibility of local productions abroad.

The Paris screening is scheduled for June 5 at 7 p.m. in the presence of the festival team.
