Rabat – Britain´s most prestigious tennis championship since 1877, Wimbledon, is back for its 139th edition, taking place at All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club (AELTC) from 29 June to 12 July.
The Wimbledon tournament is considered one of the sport´s four “Grand Slam” events and the only one played on grass courts.
The Grand Slams hold collectively four major championships of tennis including “Wimbledon;” “The Australian Open,” “French Open,” and “The US Open..
And guess what? Winning one of the Grand Slams championships is actually major achievement in the professional tennis scene.
This year´s tournament welcomes some of tennis´biggest stars, rising talents and fan favorites.
The list includes world No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka, top seed Naomi Osaka, one of the biggest comeback stories, and No. 1 and top seed in Men’s singles Jannik Sinner.
This Elite competition brings together unique traditions, notably “The all-white dress code;” where players are required to only wear white clothing, as well as “Strawberries and Cream,” a British dessert that has been served for more than a century during the event.

For the 2026 Wimbledon championships, the total prize stands at £56.5 million (MAD 706,2 million) making it the richest edition in the tournament´s history.
The Wimbledon´s renowned reputation is tied to its distinguished guests hosting in “The Royal Box” members of the royal family alongside heads of state, celebrities, and former champions.
The attendance to Wimbledon is by invitation only, guests are also expected to follow a formal dress code while spectators should remain quiet allowing players to compete without distraction.
