Rabat – Moroccan-Dutch singer-songwriter Inez has released “Nta Liya,” a collaboration with Moroccan artist Najm, as part of the continued rollout of her debut album “Farasha.”
With pop, R&B and Moroccan influences, “Nta Liya” reflects the sound Inez established on “Farasha,” her first full-length project.
The album explores themes including identity, love, femininity and cultural heritage, and has been supported by several singles since its release.
Originally written as a solo song, “Nta Liya” evolved into a duet after Inez decided it needed another perspective.
In a press statement, Inez emphasized that Najm was the first artist who came to mind because of the emotional quality of his voice and style, stating, “There’s something about his universe, his voice and the way he manages to be both mysterious and deeply vulnerable.”
The release continues to build on the momentum of “Farasha,” which introduced Inez’s mix of contemporary international influences and Moroccan musical identity, as she continues to establish herself among a new generation of Moroccan and diaspora artists.
