Rabat – Demi Lovato is officially returning for “Camp Rock 3,” reprising her role as Mitchie Torres in Disney’s upcoming sequel.
Her return will also reunite her with Joe, Nick, and Kevin Jonas, who are back as the fictional band Connect 3.
Lovato first stepped into the role of Mitchie in “Camp Rock” in 2008, before returning for “Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam” in 2010.
The franchise quickly became a defining part of Disney Channel’s musical era, with Lovato and the Jonas Brothers becoming closely associated with songs such as “This Is Me” and “Wouldn’t Change a Thing.”
Her involvement in the third installment was initially announced with Lovato attached as an executive producer.
Disney later confirmed that she would also return in front of the camera, bringing Mitchie back to the story more than a decade after her last appearance.
Lovato has already teased her return on social media, sharing a photo from the production alongside a message written from Mitchie’s perspective, giving longtime fans their first glimpse of her comeback.
The Jonas Brothers will also reprise their roles as Shane, Nate, and Jason Gray, the members of Connect 3. This time, however, the story shifts toward a new generation of Camp Rock talent.
In “Camp Rock 3,” Connect 3 returns to the camp while searching for a new artist to join them as an opening act.
Their search introduces them to a group of young performers eager to prove themselves and make their mark on the music scene.
That setup allows the film to bring back familiar faces without making the original cast the entire focus of the story.
Director Veronica Rodriguez has emphasized that Mitchie’s return was carefully balanced to support the new characters rather than overshadow them.
Within the story, Mitchie herself understands that Camp Rock now belongs to a younger generation, allowing her character to serve as a bridge between the franchise’s past and its future.
At the same time, Mitchie and Connect 3 remain important to the storyline, giving longtime viewers a connection to the original films while introducing a new group of characters for younger audiences to discover.
