Rabat – The TikTok community has been mind blown by a recent remix of kpop and west coast hip hop, featuring the new kpop band illit, and the black american rapper Tupac.
The remix has garnered more than one million likes on TikTok in just a day, with countless shares and comments, and has been widely spread over all other social media platforms.
After the sound went viral on TikTok, the maker decided to post an extended version on Youtube, at the request of the fans of both artists. Which has already reached 1,2 millions of views.
The mastermind behind the remix, @fhyzhicz04 on Instagram and Tiktok, expressed to MWN Lifestyle Magazine, his truthful amazement by going viral: “I don’t consider myself a professional producer, when I edited the illitx2pac remix, it was purely for fun.”
“It sounded nice, and I thought some people may agree with me on that when I posted it, not expecting it at all to blow up, and out of nowhere, it became a trend itself.” He added.
Musicality resurrected
Some people on social media platforms argued that this remix is a kind of disrespect towards Tupac’s legacy, claiming that pairing his tracks with kiddish kpop songs is unacceptable,
On the other hand, many who enjoyed listening to the remix described the idea of combining two of the most dissimilar music style in one song as an intriguing idea, with the remix standing as a bridge between two different cultural backgrounds.
It’s worth noting that numerous korean songs fall under the subgenre of hip hop, a style as highly consumed as pop music, namely Uh Oh by i-dle, One of a Kind by G-Dragon, Fan a by Epic High, and so much more.
