Rabat – ”Always Lalisa,” a documentary featuring BLACKPINK’s Lisa, will premiere on IMAX and cinemas October 12 via Sony Music Vision and Trafalgar Releasing.
The film charts a defining 12 months as Lisa launches a solo career, moves into acting, and builds her own brand post-BLACKPINK era.
Directed by Award-winning filmmaker Sue Kim, the documentary will later stream exclusively on YouTube Premium in 2026.
“When Sony Music Vision first approached me about telling this story, I was immediately interested, not just because I have such an admiration for her, but I also knew the very specific place she was in life, which was she was taking a hiatus from Blackpink for a year,” the filmmaker commented to Deadline.
“So many people in her position I think could have just taken a break, caught up on sleep, caught up with friends, or simply just stayed in their swim lane,“ she added.“I knew she was going to be premiering her acting debut in ‘The White Lotus,’ which she’d never acted before, I also knew she was going to be recording a solo album, and I knew that musically she was going to be stepping away from K-Pop and exploring her musical identity.”
Lisa’s 2025–2026 run has been nonstop. She performed “Goals” with Anitta and Rema at the 2026 FIFA World Cup opening ceremony, becoming the first female K-pop artist and first Thai artist to perform at the event.
She also had a solo set at Coachella 2025, joined the 2026 Met Gala host committee as the first K-pop artist, and presented at the 2026 Golden Globes.
She debuted as Mook in HBO’s “The White Lotus” and has two Netflix projects ahead, including starring and executive producing an action film called “Tygo,” plus an untitled rom-com.
Lisa’s music has received huge praise and is continuing to do so, with MTV Best Kpop in 2022, Global Hit Of The Year, and many more awards.
Her EP “Press Play” is set to drop on October 23, led by single “SaWaDika” out tomorrow.
