Rabat– The internationally acclaimed concert “This is Michael” is coming to the capital of Morocco for a two-night show dedicated to pop lovers.

On October 29, the royal theater in Rabat will host a live show in tribute to one of the legendary figures in the history of pop music, Michael Jackson.

The show tickets are listed across several categories ranging from MAD 500 ($50) for normal seats, and up to MAD 1500 ($152) for exclusive ones.

After tickets for the October 29 show sold out, organizers added a second show on October 30 to meet demand. The top seating categories for both dates also sold out.

A travel in time

Led by the international performer Lenny Jay, “This is Michael” is a meticulous live production bringing together Jackson’s unique signature in music, choreography, and theatrical showmanship.

Featuring live musicians, top-tier dancers, and striking visuals, “This is Michael” is an invitation to loyal fans and new generations to celebrate the legacy of an extraordinary artist that redefined the notion of pop music.

Between “Billie Jean”, “Smooth Criminal”, “Black or White”, and “Beat It “, the show promises to take the audience back in time to celebrate Jackson’s classic hits.

Jackson music on a Moroccan stage

Jackson never performed on a Moroccan stage, a piece of history explaining the massive demand for the show.

In July 1996, Jackson arrived in Morocco to promote his upcoming concerts in Casablanca scheduled for September 1996, as part of his HIStory World Tour.

Several videos circulated showing Jackson wandering through the streets of Casablanca surrounded by a throng of admirers and a heavy security presence.

One month later, Moroccan authorities announced that scheduled concerts were canceled, with no further details from official media outlets; however, security concerns, including potential massive gatherings, were thought to be the reason.
