Fez — The city of Taroudant hosted the sixth edition of the International Forum of Inspiration, an event dedicated to visual arts and creative exchange that opened Friday evening at the city’s cultural center.
Organized by the Association Al Mohamadia d’arts plastiques (Mohammedia Association for Plastic Arts,) the forum aims to create a shared space for artistic dialogue, bringing together artists from diverse backgrounds, schools, and creative practices.
A platform for dialogue and collective creativity
According to the organizers, the Forum of Inspiration is designed to encourage exchanges of experience and vision among participating artists, while fostering dialogue between different artistic approaches. The event also seeks to open pathways toward collaborative works that reflect cultural diversity and the richness of contemporary artistic expression.
The opening ceremony featured more than 40 paintings created by artists representing a wide range of visual movements. Many of the works draw inspiration from Morocco’s natural landscapes and environment, while others reinterpret scenes from everyday Moroccan life through varied visual styles and techniques.
Honoring artists and nurturing young talent
The launch ceremony also included tributes to several artists in recognition of their contributions to the field of visual arts. In addition, children taking part in the sixth edition of the “Children and Colors” workshop were honored, highlighting the forum’s emphasis on artistic education and early creative engagement.
Speaking to Maghreb Arab Press, Mustafa Zaki, president of the Association Al Mohamadia d’arts plastiques, said the forum seeks to showcase Taroudant’s creative dynamism and strengthen its position on both the national artistic scene and within broader cultural dialogue.
Art as a driver of cultural development
Zaki added that the event aims to connect visual creativity with collective memory and contemporary transformations, positioning art as a catalyst for cultural and human development. He stressed that this year’s edition is marked by the participation of artists with varied experiences and perspectives, enriching artistic discourse and encouraging the exchange of expertise.
The three-day forum is organized in partnership with the National Initiative for Human Development and supported by the Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication, the Taroudant municipality, and the Association Dar Al Fann.
Beyond exhibitions, the program includes intellectual meetings and seminars focused on culture, identity, and development, as well as presentations of socially oriented artistic initiatives. Together, these activities underscore the growing role of art in cultural and territorial development, while reinforcing Taroudant’s place as a vibrant hub for creative exchange in southern Morocco.
