Rabat – A new global index has placed Morocco firmly on the family travel map, with the iconic Hassan II Mosque in Casablanca ranking among the world’s most family-friendly landmarks.

The study, conducted by iCandy, evaluated more than 200 major sites worldwide based on accessibility, facilities, pricing, climate, and visitor reviews.

The results highlight a growing shift in how families choose destinations, prioritizing ease, comfort, and inclusivity alongside cultural value.

Leading the ranking is the Grand Canyon South Rim in the United States, praised for its accessible walkways, shuttle services, and family-oriented infrastructure.

It is followed by the Griffith Observatory in Los Angeles, known for its free entry and interactive exhibits, and Forbidden City in China, which offers engaging experiences tailored to younger visitors.

India’s Taj Mahal also ranks highly, recognized for introducing dedicated family-friendly amenities.

Securing fifth place globally, the Hassan II Mosque stands out not only as a religious and architectural landmark but as a site that accommodates families with ease.

Its expansive courtyards, structured guided tours, and accessible layout make it particularly manageable for visitors with young children. Policies such as free entry for children under four further reinforce its family appeal.

The ranking also reflects a broader trend: globally renowned landmarks are increasingly adapting to meet the needs of family travelers.

From improved facilities like baby-changing stations to better crowd management and accessible pathways, the definition of a “must-visit” destination is evolving.
