Rabat – Morocco’s Ali Zaoua Foundation is bringing together some of the country’s most promising young creatives for the national finals of its Collèges Pionniers program, organized in partnership with Morocco’s Ministry of National Education, Preschool and Sports.

The finals are taking place at the El Ghali Cultural Complex, marking the culmination of a year-long artistic training program for public middle school students.

The competition highlights two disciplines: classroom cinema and theatrical improvisation, designed to integrate artistic expression into students’ daily education.

The national cinema finals are running from July 1-3, while the theater improvisation finals will take place from July 5-7, gathering finalists from across Morocco.

Launched as an ambitious extracurricular initiative, Collèges Pionniers aims to immerse students in filmmaking and performance while strengthening essential life skills such as communication, teamwork, critical thinking, and self-confidence.

The program has expanded this year with two separate learning levels, allowing first- and second-year participants to follow tailored artistic paths.

A total of 43 teams qualified for the national stage following regional and provincial rounds.

In cinema, students will present their short films to a national jury of industry professionals, competing for awards including Best Film, Best Director, Best Screenplay, Jury Special Mention, and the Audience Award.

Meanwhile, the improvisation finals will crown the kingdom’s top teams in a series of live theatrical matches.

Beyond the competition itself, the event celebrates the commitment of students, teachers, and educators, while reinforcing the vision of the Ali Zaoua Foundation to make art a powerful tool for education, inclusion, and empowerment for Morocco’s younger generations.
