Rabat – Marrakech is the world’s tenth most romantic city, according to travel blog UCity Guides.
The Red city “offers 1001 nights of sensory pleasures to be shared with a special someone,” the blog wrote.
“Spices, labyrinthine markets, camel rides, snake charmers” define the beauty of Marrakech, which is home to “arguably the most romantic boutique hotels in the world (called ‘riads’), as well as the perfect setting for a romantic getaway, surrounded by palm trees, views of the Atlas Mountains, and, of course, the Sahara Desert nearby.”
The Moroccan city has attracted art lovers, curious adventurers, and couples seeking to celebrate their love in “exotic” Marrakech.
Despite its popularity, Marrakech continues to face competition from well-established romantic European cities such as Venice, which topped UCity Guides’ list of the 10 most romantic cities.
The city of lights and love, Paris, placed second on the list, followed by Prague, Florence, Rome, Lisbon, Vienna, and Seville.
Bueno Aires, the only non-European city featured on the list along with Marrakech, placed 9th, thanks to its “sensual mix of European elegance and Latin American seduction.”
