Dutch kickboxing champion Rico Verhoeven has appeared in a video dancing to Moroccan popular music, catching the internet community off guard.
Attending a Moroccan wedding held in the Netherlands, Rico was filmed joyfully swaying to the rhythms of Moroccan Chaabi music before he set himself free as he started clapping and ecstatically showing off his dance moves.
The audience widely cheered Rico’s lively dancing to the upbeat Moroccan Chaabi music, one of the widely celebrated music genres across all corners of the North African kingdom. Chaabi music is an inevitable part of the traditional Moroccan wedding.
Rico’s video instantly went viral once posted on social media platforms with many netizens expressing their amazement at the heavyweight champion’s good dancing skills.

Besides his apparent, surprising knowledge of Moroccan Chaabi music, Rico has been in a long-standing, intense rivalry with Moroccan kickboxing champions, especially Badr Hari and Jamal Ben Saddik in the Glory fight series.
The fierce rivalry has entertained fans for years as they waited with bated hearts for every kickboxing bout between the Dutch champion and one of his Moroccan opponents.
With Rico, or the “kickboxing king” as many kickboxing fans call him, being in his prime during the past years, he has most often been on the winning end of the clashes he’s had with his fierce Moroccan opponents.
Still, both Hari and Ben Saddik have on occasion delivered outstanding performances against the Dutch kickboxing champion, with Ben Saddik getting much closer than to defeating Rico in their latest fight.
