Marrakech – Tetouan is set to sparkle from August 22 to 24 as it celebrates women’s artistic creation at the 12th edition of the Festival Voix de Femmes.

After a pandemic-induced pause, the festival is back, bigger and bolder, with a lineup that promises to be as diverse as it is dazzling.

Under the theme “Women: Essential Partners for Sustainable Change,” this edition is all about honoring the power and creativity of women in every artistic form imaginable.

The festival’s stages will come alive with performances by international stars and emerging talents alike.

From the Spanish Theater of Tetouan to the Modern Art Center and the grand Al Matar stage, every corner of the city will pulse with the energy of female artistry.

And with a lineup featuring big names like Zineb Afilal, Carole Samaha, Shatha Hassoun, Hind Ziadi, Sanaa Marahati, Gipsy Queens Generation, and Maria Ole Flamenco, it’s clear this festival is pulling out all the stops.

But it’s not just about the music. This year, the festival is a full-fledged celebration of femininity, featuring a health caravan, solidarity actions for women prisoners, and a glamorous caftan fashion show by designers Samira Haddouchi and Hajar Hamouda.

The chosen theme aligns with the Royal High Directives that aim to advance the rights and status of Moroccan women, recognizing their crucial role in the sustainable development and modernization of society.

“The Festival Voix de Femmes is an ode to female creativity and a hymn to cultural diversity,” said Karima Benyaich, president of the Association Voix de Femmes. “It’s a chance to celebrate the talent and contribution of women to the development of our society.”

In a world where art often reflects the changes we seek, this festival stands as a beacon of what’s possible when women are given the stage – literally and figuratively.
