Marrakech – Today, Marrakech International Film Festival announced the full jury lineup for its 22nd edition, scheduled to take place from November 28 to December 6.
This year’s panel brings together eight leading figures from across four continents, tasked with evaluating the fourteen first and second feature films competing in the festival’s official selection, dedicated to spotlighting emerging global talent.
At the helm of the jury is South Korean director Bong Joon Ho, whose landmark film “Parasite” earned the Palme d’Or and four Academy Awards.
His groundbreaking work, praised for its bold form and social commentary, has redefined the conversation between arthouse cinema and mainstream audiences.
Bong Joon Ho will be joined by a distinguished group whose careers embody the diversity of contemporary cinema:
- Karim Ainouz (Brazil), acclaimed for “The Invisible Life of Euridice Gusmao,” winner of “Un Certain Regard” at Cannes.
- Hakim Belabbes (Morocco), a key voice in intimate, memory-driven filmmaking.
- Jenna Ortega (USA), star of “Wednesday” and “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice.”
- Payman Maadi (Iran), internationally recognized for “A Separation” and winner of Berlin’s Silver Bear for Best Actor.
- Julia Ducournau (France), Palme d’Or winner for “Titane.”
- Celine Song (Canada), director of the critically acclaimed “Past Lives.”
- Anya Taylor-Joy (UK/Argentina), known for the “Queen’s Gambit,” “Furiosa,” and “Dune: Part Two.”
