Fez — Miley Cyrus has received the 2,845th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, cementing her place among the entertainment industry’s most visible names after a career that began on Disney Channel and evolved into global pop stardom.
The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce honored Cyrus on May 22 at 7011 Hollywood Boulevard in Los Angeles.
The singer received her star in the recording category, with actress Anya Taylor-Joy and fashion designer Donatella Versace joining the ceremony as guest speakers.
A full-circle Hollywood moment
For Cyrus, the honor carries personal weight. The ceremony came nearly 20 years after “Hannah Montana” turned her into one of Disney’s most recognizable young performers, launching a career that later moved through pop, country, rock, and alternative influences.
The official Hollywood Walk of Fame page described Cyrus as a “rare generational artist” whose career has been shaped by reinvention and cultural impact. It also noted her Grammy wins for “Flowers” and her collaboration with Beyoncé on “II Most Wanted.”
Cyrus became emotional during the ceremony while thanking her family, friends, collaborators, and supporters. People reported that her mother Tish Cyrus, sister Brandi Cyrus, and fiancé Maxx Morando attended the event, while Anya Taylor-Joy and Donatella Versace also spoke in her honor.
From Disney star to pop survivor
Cyrus’ public image has shifted repeatedly since her Disney years. She has moved from teen idol to provocateur, then toward a more mature pop-rock identity built around vocal power, visual storytelling, and self-aware reinvention.
That arc has often made her a polarizing figure, but it also explains why the star feels symbolic. Cyrus has stayed relevant across multiple entertainment eras, from “Hannah Montana” to “Wrecking Ball,” “Flowers,” “Endless Summer Vacation,” and “Something Beautiful.”
The Hollywood Walk of Fame class of 2026 originally included Cyrus among recording honorees alongside names such as Air Supply, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, Josh Groban, Angélique Kidjo, and Lyle Lovett.
Honorees are selected by the Walk of Fame Selection Panel and ratified by the “Hollywood Chamber of Commerce” Board of Directors.
A star built on reinvention
Cyrus also linked the moment to her song “Walk of Fame,” framing the star not as a simple career trophy but as a symbol of legacy.
AP reported that she described the honor as “an accumulation of devotion,” connecting it to the emotional labor behind a long public career.
