Rabat – Famous for his bowl cut, the American musician Oliver Tree died on June 14 after the helicopter in which he was traveling collided with another in Recreio dos Bandeirantes, in the Southwest zone of Rio de Janeiro.

The accident resulted in the death of five other people. Authorities have since launched an investigation on the cause of the collision.

Oliver Tree Nickel was born in Santa Cruz, California in 1993. He became famous after going viral on social media in 2016

Oliver tree had just finished his show in São Paulo on June 6th as part of his world tour, and was heading to his next show in Lisbon where he was scheduled to perform on July 1st. 

His ‘alter egos’ put him on the map as an eccentric and absurdist artist which intrigued a wide audience including his label Atlantic Records with whom he has signed a record deal in 2016.

He has released four albums and produced multiple hits including “Life Goes On,” “Miss You” with Robin Schulz, “Cash Mashine,”  “Alien Boy” and many more.

Oliver Tree’s tragic death touched many around the world and many of his fellow artists paid their respects online namely Bebe Rexha, Diplo, Kid Kudi and KSI.

Rexha honored Oliver Tree as being “passionate, talented, and kind,” while Kudi described him as a “really amazing and beautiful human” 

Besides being a musician, Tree also self directed many of his music videos and those of other artists.
