Rabat – Fresh off Spain’s 2026 FIFA World Cup triumph, 19-year-old Lamine Yamal has teamed up with American Eagle to front a new back-to-school campaign and launch a limited-edition capsule collection inspired by his signature style.Â
The launch builds on a five-year global partnership announced between American Eagle and Yamal in January 2026.Â
The agreement extends beyond traditional ambassador duties, giving the Spanish star a role in designing exclusive collections that reflect his fashion identity.
Just days after Spain’s World Cup victory, American Eagle turned the spotlight on Yamal with a major marketing campaign celebrating the youngest player in history to win both the FIFA World Cup and the UEFA European Championship.
Among the campaign’s highlights is the debut of AE 19, a renamed version of one of the brand’s signature denim styles.Â
The name references both Yamal’s age and his jersey number, while the accompanying capsule collection features casual, streetwear-inspired pieces influenced by the footballer’s everyday wardrobe.
The collection includes baggy carpenter shorts, classic trucker jackets, oversized ’90s-inspired denim, and relaxed T-shirts and shirts, reflecting the loose silhouettes and practical styling that continue to dominate youth fashion.
American Eagle also launched an ambitious global campaign to mark the collaboration. Giant CGI-powered digital billboards featuring Yamal appeared in New York’s Times Square, while the brand introduced an interactive shopping experience allowing customers to purchase the outfits worn by the player directly from the campaign.
In a move that quickly gained traction on social media, American Eagle temporarily renamed its official Instagram account “Lamine’s Eagles” to celebrate Spain’s World Cup victory, underscoring the company’s confidence in Yamal as one of the most influential figures among Generation Z consumers.
Yamal’s growing influence now extends well beyond football. His partnership with American Eagle reflects a wider trend of fashion brands investing in young athletes whose cultural impact increasingly rivals that of musicians and actors.
