Rabat – Morocco will send a 120-athlete delegation to the 2026 Mediterranean Games in Taranto, Italy, with the Moroccan National Olympic Committee (CNOM) confirming the squad for the 20th edition of the regional competition.
The delegation includes 72 men and 48 women, who will compete across 18 sporting disciplines as Morocco looks to make its mark at the Games, scheduled for August 21 to September 3.
The team-sport draw, held in Taranto on May 29, determined Morocco’s opponents in football, handball, volleyball, water polo and 3×3 basketball.
Morocco’s women’s football team was drawn into Group A with Spain, Portugal and Algeria, while the men’s team will face Türkiye, Tunisia and North Macedonia in Group A.
Morocco was represented at the draw by Majd Chekroun, Director of International Relations and Communication at the CNOM and a member of the Sports Commission of the International Committee of the Mediterranean Games (ICMG).
For Morocco, the competition will provide another major regional stage for its athletes across both individual and team sports.
