Casablanca – Moroccan director Jaouad El Khaoudi’s new play “Tiriry” will premiere at Studio des Arts Vivants in Casablanca on August 22.
The play brings together several prominent names in the Moroccan acting scene, including Soukaina Darabil, Narjiss El Hallak, Rafik Boubker, Nabil Atif, and others.
Set against a comedic backdrop, “Tiriry” follows Wasim, a pilot whose love life is anything but simple.
Known for dating several flight attendants without ever getting caught, his luck takes a turn when the women he has been seeing finally come face to face.
What follows is a series of chaotic situations as Wasim tries to get himself out of one mess after another.
Things become even more complicated when his cousin arrives from the countryside, bringing his own way of dealing with problems as he tries to help Wasim out of the mess, only to find themselves caught up in new ones.
The play comes after El Khaoudi’s recent work in cinema, including “Noud ou Noud,” which hit Moroccan cinemas last April and also featured Darabil and Boubker.
With “Tiriry,” El Khaoudi takes on more than the director’s chair. He also wrote the play and will appear in it, adding another role to his work behind the production.
Casablanca will mark the play’s first stop, with “Tiriry” expected to travel to other Moroccan cities afterward.
