Today, Beyoncé’s 45th birthday lines up with a big anniversary for “B’Day,” her celebrated second studio album, which turns 20 this year.
The US superstar released a 31-track digital deluxe edition with bonus tracks, new remixes, and Spanish-language recordings.
The new anniversary edition adds rare B-sides, extra songs, and bonus material that broadens the album’s impact. Included in the expanded release are “My First Time,” “Can I Watch You,” “Lost Yo Mind,” “Creole,” and “Back Up.”
The deluxe version also features Spanish-language versions and a collaboration with Maluma, which also contains a sample of “La Negra Tiene Tumbao” by Afro-Cuban artist Celia Cruz.
“I wanted the album to be big, percussive, hard, up-tempo, and energized, and it was important to me that we used live instrumentation,” Beyoncé said in a statement to the press, sharing thoughts about what inspired the original record.
