Fez – French feature “Yoroï” follows Aurélien, a touring artist who moves to rural Japan with his pregnant wife, Nanako. He discovers an old suit of armor at the bottom of a well in their new home. The artifact that awakens yokai, the mischievous and sometimes malevolent spirits of Japanese folklore.

Yoroï blends intimate drama with supernatural tension, setting a contemporary couple against legends rooted in place and memory.

The movie is the first fiction feature from director David Tomaszewski and is led by Orelsan, with Clara Choï, Alice Yanagida, and Kazuya Tanabe among the cast.

Music duties involve Orelsan and long-time collaborator Skread, reinforcing the film’s crossover between cinema and music culture. According to Unifrance, “Yoroï” runs 1 hour 42 minutes and opened in France on October 29, 2025.

Moroccan audiences can catch it at Megarama: the multiplex’s weekly program for Marrakech lists “YOROÏ” with showtimes scheduled in the October 29–November 4 window, which includes today.

As with all chains, times vary by location and session, so checking the venue’s schedule before heading out is advised.

Beyond its premise, “Yoroï” stands out for its cultural mash-up: French creatives working inside a Japanese setting, tapping into yokai mythology while keeping the emotional core of a couple navigating change and impending parenthood.

The mix of practical atmosphere and creature lore aims for suspense without losing warmth, inviting viewers who like genre stories with a human anchor.

If you’re in the mood for a spooky, stylish import with a music-scene pedigree, “Yoroï” is on the big screen now — check Megarama’s listings and grab a late-night show while it’s still on the weekly slate.
