Marrakech – Morocco is rising as one of the top holiday destinations for French travelers in 2025, thanks to a diversified tourism offer, expanded air connectivity, and a rapidly modernizing hotel sector, according to the aviation-focused publication Air Journal.
In its feature titled “Holidays in Morocco: The Big Comeback of French Travelers,” the outlet notes that strong historical and cultural ties between France and Morocco continue to position the Kingdom at the forefront of French travel plans, reinforcing its status as a key Francophone destination.
The momentum is backed by powerful growth figures: by the end of October 2025, Morocco had welcomed 16.6 million tourists, a 14% increase compared to the same period in 2024.
Aiming to attract 10 million French visitors annually by 2030, Morocco has intensified efforts to boost stays in tourism hotspots such as Agadir and Marrakech.
Air travel remains a major driving force behind this trend. Leading carriers including Air France, Transavia, easyJet, Ryanair, Vueling, and Royal Air Maroc operate extensive networks linking France to major Moroccan cities.
The strategy also involves partnerships with low-cost airlines, offering a wide range of affordable options.
The country’s hotel industry is evolving in tandem. Since January 2025, a major reform has harmonized the classification of accommodation according to unified international standards.
The new system applies to all types of establishments, from riads to resorts, and includes up to 800 evaluation criteria, backed by regular audits to ensure consistent quality.
To meet the expectations of an increasingly demanding global clientele, investors across the tourism sector are launching ambitious projects, with several hotel openings planned ahead of the 2030 World Cup, which Morocco is co-hosting with Spain and Portugal.
