NadorAccording to BBC, several standout films and performances are expected to dominate the 2026 Oscars, with a few clear frontrunners emerging across the main categories.

In the Best Picture race, the strongest contenders are “One Battle After Another” and “Sinners”.

Directed by Paul Thomas Anderson, “One Battle After Another” has been a favourite throughout the awards season thanks to its ambitious storytelling and strong performances.

However, BBC highlighted that “Sinners”, directed by Ryan Coogler, has gained momentum after major wins at the BAFTAs and Actor Awards, making it a strong possible winner.

In the Best Director category, Anderson is widely predicted to win for “One Battle After Another”.

According to BBC, the film’s complex narrative and distinctive style reflect Anderson’s creative vision and make him the most likely recipient of the award.

The Best Actress race appears more certain. Jessie Buckley is expected to win for her powerful portrayal in “Hamnet,” a performance that has been widely praised since the film premiered.

In the Best Actor category, Michael B. Jordan is predicted to win for his role in “Sinners,” particularly for playing identical twins in the film.

Although Timothée Chalamet received strong attention for his performance in “Marty Supreme,” Jordan’s recent awards success gives him the advantage.

Meanwhile, Sean Penn is expected to win Best Supporting Actor for his role in “One Battle After Another.”

In the Best Supporting Actress category, the race remains tight between Amy Madigan for “Weapons’’ and Teyana Taylor for “One Battle After Another.”

Other predicted winners include “KPop Demon Hunters” for Best Animated Feature and Sentimental Value as a possible winner for Best International Film.

As the ceremony approaches, these predictions highlight the films most likely to dominate the night.
