Fez – French international and Paris Saint-Germain superstar Kylian Mbappe is enjoying his summer holiday in Morocco’s red city, Marrakech.

Mbappe shared a picture of himself in the swimming pool of one of Marrakech’s luxurious hotels, savoring the city’s hot weather during this time of the year.

The football star posted the picture under a caption that read “finally,” in reference to the long season the player has had before grabbing the opportunity to spend some time off the pitch. He also added hot weather emojis as he appeared to enjoy Morocco’s summer vibes.

The football star also posted stories of his trip to Marakkech on his Instagram page.

This is not the first time that Mbappe visits Marrakech to rest and enjoy the city’s famed tourist-friendly spirit.

In 2020, the PSG winger celebrated the New Year holiday in the red city where he was seen enjoying a camel ride.

Over the past year, the French international has developed a close friendship with the Moroccan right-back Achraf Hakimi.

The two players have shared a close on and off the pitch connection since the Moroccan right-back’s transfer to PSG in summer 2021.

Hakimi has occasionally referred to the great role Mbappe played in getting him to settle in Paris and adapt to the PSG squad and the French lifestyle.

In an interview in April with the French football program Telefoot, Hakimi explained how Kylian played an important role in his learning of the French language. “I speak a little French with Kylian. He helped me a lot. I’m starting to speak better French,” he said.

The PSG winger is not the only football celebrity to have chosen Morocco’s Marrakech as a destination for their summer holiday.

In May, Algerian international and Manchester City winger Riyad Mahrez shared Instagram stories showing him enjoying a family trip to the Moroccan red city.

Diego Simeone, the head coach of Spain’s football club Atletico Madrid, also recently visited the Moroccan city to enjoy quality time with his wife, Carla Peryera.

In pictures shared on social media by Peryera, Simeone appeared to be enjoying a camel ride and sunny weather in the golden sand of the Agafay desert near Marrakech.

Marrakech is widely regarded as a top travel destination among tourists worldwide, attracting millions of visitors each year and contributing to Morocco’s GDP.

As the tourism sector appears to be recovering from the COVID-induced disruptions, Moroccan cities are getting back on track and witnessing an increased influx of local and international tourists.

Last month, revenues from the country’s tourism sector reached the $1 billion threshold, according to Tourism Minister Fatima Zahra Ammor. Notably, Morocco’s tourism traffic has increased by 80% compared to last year.
