Rabat – DoubleTree, a hotel chain managed by Hilton, announced plans to open a new hotel in Marina Agadir in the summer of 2023.
Hilton announced on May 26 the news after signing an agreement on the opening of the DoubleTree hotel. The hotel will mark the first DoubleTree facility in Agadir and Morocco at large.
During a recent visit to Morocco, Hilton’s Senior Vice President, Development, EMEA Patrick Fitzgibbon, said that Hilton is “proud to continue to develop” its network in Morocco.
Fitzgibbon further pointed out that Hilton has “no less than nine new hotels already operational or under construction.”
Talking about Agadir’s potential for tourism, Fitzgibbon said that the arrival of DoubleTree “testifies more than ever to the extraordinary potential” that Agadir offers.
For his part, the President of Marina Agadir Zaid Ali, said: “As tourism continues to grow in Morocco, we are proud to partner with Hilton and soon open a DoubleTree by Hilton hotel in Agadir.”
“This property will benefit from a strategic and prime location since it will be located in the heart of the Marina Agadir,” Ali added.
“It will contribute to improving the overall experience of visitors thanks to the world-renowned DoubleTree by Hilton brand, in addition to having superb restaurants, event rooms, and leisure facilities,” he explained.
Global Head of DoubleTree by Hilton, Shawn McAteer, was also present at the agreement signing and noted that “For more than 50 years, DoubleTree by Hilton has been renowned for its ability to offer a warm welcome to its guests from all over the world and we look forward to extending this welcome to even more business and leisure travelers with this new property in Marina Agadir.”
The new hotel will be located 27 kilometers from Agadir Al Massira Airport (AGA) and approximately 10 kilometers from the coastal resort of Taghazout.
