Casablanca – Moroccan-Belgian artist Tawsen has entered the Grammy race with his album “Chokran” and single “Zid Sawt,” submitting both for consideration in the Global Music Album and Global Music Performance categories.

The entries mark another step in Tawsen’s career as he continues to reach listeners beyond Morocco. The artist has built a growing audience on streaming platforms, with more than 2.2 million monthly listeners on Spotify.

Released in June, “Chokran” marked Tawsen’s return to music after two years away from releasing new material. It also became his debut studio album, offering a more complete picture of his musical direction and the influences that shape his work.

“Zid Sawt” features on the 15-track album, setting the musical tone for “Chokran” as Tawsen moves between different sounds and collaborations throughout the project.

The album also includes tracks such as “Den Den,” “Khallini,” and “Dawini,” featuring Moroccan artist Ayoub Anbaoui.

The album’s title means “thank you” in Arabic, reflecting the artist’s desire to acknowledge the people who supported him during his time away from music.

Rather than simply marking his comeback, the project gave him a chance to reconnect with his audience on his own terms.

Tawsen’s sound draws on Moroccan and wider Arab influences while incorporating contemporary pop, R&B, and hip-hop. He also moves between languages, reflecting the different cultural influences that have shaped his music and helped him connect with listeners across borders.

With “Chokran” and “Zid Sawt” now in the Grammy race, Tawsen adds another milestone to a career that continues to grow internationally.
