Marrakech – Casablanca’s art scene is about to get a jolt of raw energy and poetic contrast as two Moroccan artists — Cheaib El Barki and Mohamed Benhamza — unveil their latest works at ARTWORKS by Moroccan Paintings on Thursday, May 29.

El Barki, a self-taught painter from Rabat-Sale, channels the grit of urban life into his canvases.

Think vintage cars, graffiti-splashed walls, and fragments of cityscapes that feel like they’ve been pulled straight from the streets and frozen in time. His art, born from a life once teetering on the edge, pulses with rebellion and redemption.

Benhamza, on the other hand, offers a more introspective lens. His pieces are known for their layered textures and contemplative tones, inviting viewers to pause and reflect.

Together, their works create a dialogue between chaos and calm, city noise and inner stillness.

The exhibition opens at 6 p.m. at ARTWORKS by Moroccan Paintings, located at 05 Luxoria, Avenue Ahmed Charci, in Casablanca’s Bourgogne district.

For those craving a fresh perspective on Moroccan contemporary art, this is the place to be.
